General

Who we are and who we are the right fit for.

  • The difference between independent and assisted senior living is the amount of support needed with activities of daily living (ADLs). Independent living focuses on giving seniors a convenient, maintenance-free lifestyle, taking care of or enhancing cooking, cleaning, and social activities. Independent living residents can handle their own medications and personal care.

Assisted living prioritizes helping seniors with ADLs such as bathing, eating, going to the restroom, medication management, and dressing. Assisted living residents usually need more support throughout the day, which assisted living facilities can provide.

  • To live at Brownsboro Park you must be at least 62 years old. For couples, at least one of you has to be 62 or older.

  • To move into Brownsboro Park, we look for seniors who can handle activities of daily living on their own: keeping up with personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, and using the bathroom by themselves, managing their medications, getting in and out of chairs by themselves, and so on.

Since we are solely an independent living property, we don't have any medical staff on-site, nor do we have 24-hour caregivers. Residents must be able to manage ADLs on their own.

  • As residents' care needs change while living at Brownsboro Park, our team works closely with the residents themselves, and their family, to keep track of what support is needed. We help bring in services the resident may need to help them age in place for as long as possible.

When care needs exceed the services we can bring into the building, or it becomes unsafe for the resident to stay in our building, we work closely with family to help with a transition into a higher level of care.

Costs

Straightforward pricing with no long-term commitment.

  • The cost of living at Brownsboro Park varies depending on the floor plan you move into. We offer five different floor plans, ranging from a studio (488 sq. ft.) to a large two bedroom (1,036 sq. ft.). Prices start at $2,500 per month.

  • The monthly rate includes the resident's rent, all utilities, weekly housekeeping, as-needed maintenance, three daily meals, daily activities, daily transportation, valet trash pickup, and a parking spot for residents who bring a car.

  • We do not do lease agreements or commitments at Brownsboro Park. Everything is run on a month-to-month basis. We know that things can change on a dime, and we don't know what tomorrow looks like. A month-to-month system gives residents and families the peace of mind that they're not locked in for any amount of time.

If Brownsboro Park turns out not to be a good fit for you or your loved one, all we need is a 30-day written notice.

  • No. Medicare and/or insurance do not help pay for independent living at Brownsboro Park. We are a non-medical building with no medical staff employed by us, so we only accept private pay.

Moving In & Logistics

What to bring, who can join you, and how the waitlist works.

  • When moving into Brownsboro Park, you provide all of your own furniture and necessities to live comfortably. In each unit we provide a full-size refrigerator, freezer, stove, and oven. We also provide cable service, landline phone service, internet/Wi-Fi service, and an emergency pendant button.

  • If our community is full and we add prospective residents to a waitlist, we collect their name and contact information, along with a few notes about the unit they're interested in and a rough timeline of when they want to move. The waitlist gives us the opportunity to keep in touch with prospective families and keep them up to date on our occupancy.

As units open up and we are able to move new people in, we work our way through the waitlist, reaching out to each person until the openings are filled.

  • Yes! Residents can bring their cars. We have a resident parking lot with designated spaces for each person, so they always have a spot to come back to. Parking is free for residents with cars. We just ask them to fill out a form upon moving in with details of their car for their file.

  • Yes! We are pet friendly, with numerous cats, dogs, and sometimes other small pets around the building. We require a pet deposit of $400 at move-in regardless of the pet you're bringing. Dogs must weigh no more than 25 lbs.

  • We have had families move in together in the past. When spouses move in together, at least one spouse must be 62 years old or older. For more information on moving in with family members, please give us a call and we're happy to walk through the process with you.
